From a humble beginning in 1945, S. Falck Nielsen started
a construction company that today bears the family name. Mr.
Nielsen was born in Fredrikstad, Norway, the son of a contractor.
In 1926, he graduated as a construction engineer from Oslo
University. After graduation, he emigrated to and across Canada,
and then worked his way down the coast to San Diego.
Architects and clients quickly recognized Mr. Nielsen as
a fine craftsman with profit-making talents and the diplomacy
to maintain strong friendships with buisness associates. Mr.
Nielsen placed a great deal of importance of the role of the
job superintendent. Namely to plan, expedite, and coordinate
with subcontractors and suppliers. Although Mr. Nielsen advised
on job plans, schedules, and alternative solutions to problems,
the superintendent always had the final decision. Nielsen
Construction Company has performed on many projects throughout
the Southwest most notably various projects at UC San Diego,
Sea World, and Downtown San Diego.
Today, the family name and legacy live on in Nielsen Construction
California. The company was formed in 2003 by the grandson
of Mr. Nielsen. The principals of Nielsen Construction California
have over 95 years of construction and building experience
in Southern California. Just as building requires a strong
solid foundation, a construction company requires a firm foundation...
a foundation of skill, insistence on quality, and respect
for your fellow worker. Nielsen Construction California has
that foundation and stands ready for the future. |
